Adding windows
To add windows is possible from the main PRO-CHARTS window by clicking Add Chart.
Before doing that you can choose the currency you're interested in, and the time scale. After that the window with
the chart for the chosen instrument and interval will open (you can open several such windows).
You can also create a new window with a chart by clicking
Clone in the lower
right corner of the already opened window and choosing
File and
New Chart in the menu.
The new chart will be identical to the existing one.
Interpretation of charts
The chart shows the condition of the traded currency in real time. It can show
the price of the instrument itself as well as the unlimited number of technical indicators.
In the aforementioned example there are the following elements:
- The menu is in the upper part of the chart, and it contains 4 pips:
- File with subdivisions Save Settings, Exit (closing the window of the chart), New Chart
(opening of a new chart with the same initial parameters).
- View with subdivisions Candle, Bar, Bar with open, and Show Slider.
- Indicator with subdivisions Add Indicator, Remove Indicator, Remove All.
- Help (information about the producer and current version of the program).
- Right under the menu there's a current meanings strip. In it you can see price meanings (opening, the
highest meaning, the lowest meaning, closing) and the volume of the bar at which the cursor is directed. If
the cursor is directed at an indicator, the exact meaning of the indicator is shown in the current meaning strip.
- Several technical indicators.
- A 15-minute chart of the rate USDJPY (US Dollar - Japanese yen). In this example the chart is in the form
of Japanese candles.
- In the lower part of the chart there's a control panel for choosing currency and time scale. You have
to choose the instrument and period you need and click Load. The chart with the parameters you
need will appear. On the control panel there's a scroll that regulates the visible part of the charts,
and the following buttons:
- Zoom+, to extend the chart
- Zoom-, to increase the number of data
- All, show all the data
- Clone, to create a new window
- Time is shown on the horizontal axis. Time is presented in the formats hour : minute, or day-month.
The 24-hour GMT format is used. On the vertical axis the meaning of the instrument is shown. The linear
scale is used.
Style of representation of the diagrams
The style of presenting charts. Charts can be presented in the form of bars with
opening, Japanese candles. To change the style you have to choose
view in the menu and then choose
the presentation you want from the offered ones. You can also use the so-called quick keys:
Ctrl + C
for Japanese candles, and
Ctrl + B for the bars with opening. Below you'll see an example
for presenting the same data in different styles.
